Bottom Line: Likely progressing his minutes over the early playoff games. Elevated re-injury risk with possible negative performance impact that will declare itself more clearly over the next week.
Conley sustained a hamstring injury that he re-aggravated at the end of April. He’s back now, but will carry an elevated re-injury risk for the playoffs. Silver lining is that his risk will decrease as time goes on. He played only 16 minutes in his first game back, so we have still to find out if his hamstring can tolerate sustained NBA intensity yet.
The Jazz are likely going to ramp up his minutes progressively over the next few games. If he makes it through that phase, he’s probably in the clear for the early part of the playoffs.
