D'Andre Swift missing Week 1? His coach is worried about conditioning? Sounds terrible, but it's not all bad news.
Swift has missed the preseason because of a groin injury, but we DO expect a high likelihood that he plays Week 1. There's no urgency to put him on the field, and muscle strains heal best with rest. With another 10 days still to go, we're anticipating a strong start to the season for Swift.
So why the high risk scores?
This is not the first time Swift has encountered groin issues, and there is a real risk of aggravating this injury during the season. That may mean games missed or touches decreased. Either way, timing will be unpredictable.
And that's why despite his massive talent, we're fading Swift in re-draft formats. He's got a solid O-line and a promising role, so keep him in play on a week-by-week basis. But in Round 3-4 of your draft, we don't think he's worth the risk.
